It’s a borderful world
MUP Strašnice / Strašnice Building
The Department of International Relations and European Studies cordially invites you to a workshop on separatism and securitisation in the globalisation era
The idea that borders are becoming increasingly fuzzy and territorial matters irrelevant to the human experience in the globalisation era has gained tremendous popularity. Using evidence from securitisation policies in North Africa and territorial disputes in the Western Balkans, the seminar will contest this political discourse arguing that far from disappearing, borders are enjoying a golden era not despite of globalisation but because of it.
Guest Speaker: Jaume Castan Pinos, Assistant Professor at University of Southern Denmark, Department of Border Region Studies
