Domestic and Gender-based Violence as a Human Rights Violation
MUP Strašnice / Strašnice Building
HuRT is a recently established platform for discussion on various human rights issues; its aim is to give MUP students an opportunity to discuss thought-provoking and often controversial issues with representatives of external institutions concerned with human rights.
Gender-based violence is one of the most prevalent human rights violations in the world. It knows no social, economic or national boundaries. The seminar will provide an overview of international instruments focused on tackling gender-based violence and current issues connected to domestic and gender-based violence in the context of the Czech Republic as well as other European countries.
Guest Speaker: Mgr. Radan Šafařík (Gender Equality Unit, Office of the Government of the Czech Republic)
